Xiaomi Redmi 9 price in Bangladesh is starting BDT 13,999 (Official). It has a Full-View waterdrop notch design. The display is protected by a 3rd generation Corning Gorilla Glass. The back camera is of quad 13+8+5+2 MP with PDAF, LED flash, ultrawide, macro, depth sensor, etc. features and a Full HD video recording option. The front camera is 8 MP. Xiaomi Redmi 9 comes with a 5020 mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 MicroSD slot
It has 3, 4, or 6 GB RAM, up to 2 GHz octa-core CPU, and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. It is powered by a Mediatek Helio G80 (12 nm) chipset. The device comes with 32, 64, or 128 GB internal storage and a dedicated MicroSD slot. There is a back-mounted fingerprint sensor in this phone.
Among other features, there is wireless FM Radio (no earphone required), Dual SIM, face unlocks, USB Type-C, splash resistant body, infrared, etc.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 Large FHD+ display, Dual Cameras
The Redmi 9 is expected to feature a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution. This will be a major improvement over the HD+ displays that we have seen on the Redmi 8 series. The phone is expected to come with a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera. The handset also gets a single LED flash at the rear and supports HDR images as well.
The phone can record FHD videos at 30fps in the highest setting. At the front, the phone gets a single 8-megapixel camera. Connectivity options on the Redmi 9 are comprehensive with the phone supporting Wi-Fi f/g/n, BlueTooth 5.0, and GPS with A-GPS. The phone also gets a 3.5mm audio jack as well as an array of sensors including a light sensor, a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, and a gyroscope.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 Processor, Up to 4GB of RAM
The Redmi 9 is expected to be a major upgrade over its predecessor, the Redmi 8. It is expected that the Redmi 9 will be powered by the Snapdragon 450 chipset from Qualcomm. The phone will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage on the top-end variant. There is also a chance of the phone being offered in a lower capacity and RAM version. Like most other handsets in this price range, the Redmi 9 will support dual SIM cards. The phone also gets a triple slot that takes in two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 Large Battery with Quick Charging Support
The USP of the Redmi 8 series from 2019 was the large battery capacity these phones came with. The same is expected in 2020 with the Redmi 9 likely to feature a large 5,000mAh battery under the hood. Additionally, the phone will also support 18W fast charging with the fast charger being offered inside the box. The phone will also feature a USB Type-C port for wired connectivity.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 Final Geek Lifestyle Verdict
Is the Redmi 9 the new budget smartphone to beat? Well, not exactly. The Redmi 9 does have a lot going for it such as an excellent display, fairly good gaming performance, and long battery life, among other pros. The problem is that it’s quad cameras don’t deliver in low light situations, plus it just feels a bit sluggish to use when flipping through the main menu.
In spite of these issues, the Redmi 9 is still a good deal overall at its starting price of PHP 6,990. If having a large battery and a great display is your priority, the Redmi 9 is still a good budget smartphone option.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 Everyday Reliability
With the Helio G80 being powerful enough to run more demanding titles (even if only at a lower graphic setting), I expected the Redmi 9 to have more than enough power for day-to-day use. For the most part, it did, with apps loading pretty fast and without much slowdown while in use.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 Android 10
While the in-app experience is solid, it’s not the case in the menus. The Redmi 9 runs on MIUI 11.0.4 based on Android 10, and I found the UI to be a bit sluggish and slow to respond at times; basically, exploring the app menu or settings isn’t as smooth as I’d like (even compared to other budget phones). Hopefully, this can be fixed in a future software update as it does hurt the user experience a bit.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 Type-C port
On the flip-side though, the Redmi 9 has a Type-C port, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a large 5,020mAh battery that lets the phone last for well over a day (or even two days) a charge. To top it all off, the Redmi 9 supports 18w fast charging, meaning you can top up fast.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 Gaming Prowess
The Redmi 9 is powered by a Mediatek Helio G80 processor, the same processor as another new budget phone–the realme 6i. Given their similar processors, I expected the Redmi 9 to perform at around the same level, and after my tests, it did.
For less demanding popular titles such as Mobile Legends, the Redmi 9 was able to run them without issues. Mobile Legends, for example, ran at the High graphic setting without any slowdowns in my time with it. For players of these titles then, the Redmi 9 is a good phone.
